Obituary for Alberta Davis
Alberta Benson Ewing Davis, 89, of Richland Center died Sunday, June 30, 2019 at her home. She was born on January 29, 1930 in Sylvan Township, Richland County the daughter of Arthur and Iva (Coulter) Benson. On September 24, 1949, Alberta was united in marriage to Allen ‘Casey’ R. Ewing in La Crosse, and he preceded her in death on November 2, 1971. Alberta was a housekeeper at Schmitt Woodland Hills and in people’s homes. She returned to school and got her CNA certificate and worked as a CNA at the Richland Hospital until her retirement. On December 26, 1987, she married Norman Davis at the Park Street Christian Church. Alberta was a longtime member of the Park Street Christian Church. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Alberta is survived by her husband Norman; 5 children: Monte (Mary) Ewing, Dan (Loretta) Ewing, Mark (Jan Schroeder) Ewing, Randall (Brenda) Ewing all of Richland Center; Cynthia (Alan) Smith of Round Rock, TX; Daughter-in-law: Jeanette Ewing of Richland Center; 3 step-children: Norman Lee (Maureen) Davis of Viroqua, Gary (Joyce) Davis of Henderson, NV, DeLon (Andrea) Davis of Reedsburg; 25 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister: Iva Gander of Richland Center; brothers-in-law: Bernie Ewing of Lone Rock, Bud Brewer of Richland Center; sisters-in-law: Doris Berberich of Richland Center, Darlene Rossdeutscher of Stoughton, Laura McDonald of Superior, Alta Jean Loder of Zephyr Hills, FL; many other relatives and friends.
Alberta was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Iva, husband Casey, son Theodore, brother Clyde (Nora) Benson, sisters: Pearl (Avery) Hartley, Martha Ewing, sisters-in-law: Karen Brewer, Mary Frances Cook, and brothers-in-law: Lorus Gander, Leo Berberich, Rodney Rossdeutscher, Eugene McDonald, Paul Loder.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 5, 2019 at 4:00 PM at the Pratt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Fancy Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2019 at the Pratt Memorial Chapel from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers family suggests memorial’s in Alberta’s name be directed to the Scleroderma Foundation, Greater Chicago Chapter, 125 S Clark St 17th St, Chicago, IL 60607. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
