Obituary for Joyce Ann Bailey

Joyce Ann Bailey, 60, of Muscoda, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 30, 2019. She was born on November 11, 1958 to Gary L. and Alta Bernice (Thompson) Byers, Sr at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Joyce was a 1976 graduate from Harve de Grace High in Harve de Grace, Maryland. She married James McLain in 1975 and they had one daughter, Dawn Marie in 1976. Joyce then met and married Stephan Kolman in 1979. She moved to Wisconsin in 1983. Joyce met Kenneth Bailey in 1991 and they were married on August 20, 1994 in Muscoda. She worked many years as an Administrative Assistant for Great Lakes Machining and Grinding in Muscoda and then was a receptionist at Bluff Street Clinic in Boscobel. Joyce enjoyed crocheting, shopping, and always wanted to go out to eat. She was outgoing, enjoyed life and always had a smile on her face.

Joyce is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 24 years, Kenneth Bailey of Muscoda;
Daughter: Dawn Marie (Kyle) Brice of Muscoda;
Grandsons: Tyler Bailey of Boscobel and Donovin Brice of Muscoda;
Great-grandson: Tucker Silvers of Muscoda;
Great-granddaughter: Meredith Bailey of Boscobel;
Stepson: Ken Bailey of Richland Center;
Stepdaughter: Nichole Bailey of Iowa;
Brother: Harold (Gladys) Byers of Aberdeen, Maryland;
Sisters-in-law: Sue (Mike) Collins of Richland Center,
Lisa Simonitch of Richland Center,
Mary Poole of Muscoda;
Brother-in-law: Earl (Lori) Bailey of Excelsior;
many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Gary and Alta Byers, brother Gary Byers, Jr., in-laws Ed and Elaine Bailey, granddaughter Nicole Brice, as well as her beloved dogs.

The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice staff, nurses and aides for all the wonderful care and compassion during this time.

Per Joyce’s final wishes, there will be no formal services. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
