Obituary for Joseph C Bock

Joseph C. Bock, 90, of Richland Center died on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Pine Valley Community Village. He was born on September 30, 1928, in Milwaukee the son of Sidney and Dorothy (Peebles) Bock. Joe graduated from Ithaca High School and served his country in the US Army from 1946 until his Honorable Discharge in 1951. Joe was employed by the State of Wisconsin from 1951 until 1986 as both a Tax Department Investigator and as a Petroleum Products Inspector. Joe was united in marriage to Arda Hagenston in 1958 and she preceded him in death in 1972. In 1973 Joe married Carol Allen Hanson and she preceded him in death in 2006. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Richland Center. Joe enjoyed fishing, reading, playing cards, traveling, dancing, and getting together with family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Joe is survived by his step daughter: Louise Hagenston Long of Onalaska;
step granddaughter Shelly (Ken Brown) Long of Holmen;
sister: Mary (Deane) Barnes of Henderson, Nevada;
brother: Dave (Donna) Bock of Loganville; special cousins: Julia Nee Newkirk, Dorothy Bock Unbehaun; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, step mother Lorraine Bock, first wife Arda, second wife Carol, sister Judy Pellett, step-son Tom Hanson, step-son-in-law Theron Long, sister and brother in law Dorothy and Edward Foley.

Per Joe’s request a private graveside services will be held in the Button Cemetery. The family suggests memorials in Joe’s name be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church or Pine Valley Community Village. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
