Edna Standish

Edna Standish, age 96, of Muscoda passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Boscobel Care and Rehab. She was born in Richland County on July 5, 1916, the daughter of Albert and Mary (Shannon) Lyman. Edna met Clair Standish at a dance and they married July 5, 1937. They farmed together in Basswood for more than 30 years. In addition to farming with her husband, Edna loved gardening and preparing and preserving the harvest. When she had free time, she enjoyed ceramics, macrame’, and crocheting.

Survivors include her two daughters:

Darlene (Joe) Balistreri of Madison

Sally (Brian) Myrland of Brooklyn, WI

her daughter in law: Shirley Standish of Muscoda

two grandsons:

Jay Standish of Milwaukee

Jason Standish of Kenosha

two great granddaughters: Lauren and Brenna Standish

one sister: Marybel Rego of Loyd

her sister in law: Rose Porcaro

several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1987, an infant daughter, her son Douglas ‘Skip’ Standish; and her siblings: Hazel (Frances ) Sugden, Harold, Fred and Junior Lyman; her brother in law Bill Rego; and seven sisters in law and one brother in law in the Standish family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the GODAGER PRATT FUNERAL HOME in Muscoda. Burial will be in the Basswood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00. The Godager Pratt Funeral Home of Muscoda is serving the Standish family.
